DESCRIPTION:Course Objectives\:\nThis 4-hour course covers the history
  and purpose of air monitoring\, properties of hazardous materials\, t
 oxicity of hazardous materials\, detecting toxic gases\, combustible g
 as indicators\, oxygen meter operations\, use of colorimetric tubes\, 
 and laboratory instruments.  Classroom-based exercises will be conduct
 ed using instruments and techniques learned.\nStudents are encouraged 
 to bring an air monitor to class from their own fire company so they b
 ecome more acclimated to the use of their specific air monitoring equi
 pment.
