DESCRIPTION:This class focuses on essential emergency PIO functions an
 d will teach PIOs how to write a news release\, conduct an on-camera i
 nterview and prepare awareness campaigns. This class fulfills a requir
 ement for the Pennsylvania Professional  Municipal Emergency Managemen
 t Coordinator certification.  The class is a prerequisite for the Adva
 nced Public Information Course (E388) at the Emergency Management Inst
 itute and is an Elective for Advanced Professional Series (APS) certif
 ication.\n \nTarget Audience\: This updated 16-hour course is designed
  for the new or less experienced Public Information Officer (PIO) or f
 or anyone who may be asked to fill the role in an expanding incident.
