PA USAR Squad 3 responded to a structural collapse incident in Blair County on Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
On Wednesday, December 1, 2010, members of PA USAR Squad 3 responded to a structural collapse incident at a residential home in Blue Knob, Pennsylvania located within Blair County. Heavy rains caused the entire Side C basement wall of the structure to collapse. Under the direction of Team Leader Gary Dennis, members worked through heavy rain/sleet and high wind conditions to stabilize the structure to prevent a total collapse of the home. Team members used mechanical shoring followed by vertical wood timber shoring.
